Police On Hunt For 'Botox Bandit'

POSTED: Friday, October 6, 2006
UPDATED: 9:28 am CDT October 6, 2006

San Antonio police are on the hunt for a man they said is one of the smoothest con artists they have seen in quite some time.

The man, who goes by the names Santiago and Sebastian Liebermann, preys on women and men at high-end bars and restaurants, said Sgt. Jeff Ward of the San Antonio Police Department Property Crimes Unit.

"They get to talking, they hit it off, he gains this person's trust," Ward said. "They end up having a somewhat intimate relationship."

Ward said the man usually lives with someone for a few days and suddenly vanishes, along with the person's identity, money and credit cards.

The con artist used one man's stolen checks to buy a Lexus and botox injections, Ward said.

The man has sold botox injections to people in San Antonio, Austin and New York, Ward said.

Often times, the victim will be too embarrassed to report the crime or will wait too long to do so, giving the man time to move on.

"He promises them the world and makes them think he can deliver," Ward said.

The man is estimated to have stolen more than $100,000 from victims, Ward said.

Anyone with information on the man is urged to call police.
