SAN ANTONIO -- A 49-year-old man was killed and three of his relatives were injured early Friday in a crash on the city's far North Side.
Police said that Joseph Delgado, 40, was speeding and possibly driving drunk when he lost control on a sharp turn on East Sonterra Boulevard near Meisner at 12:30 a.m.
The car hit a curb, went airborne and crashed into a tree, police said.
Firefighters had to use the Jaws Of Life to extract the four men from the crumpled wreckage, police said.
The driver's brother, Ernest Delgado, who was riding in the back seat, was killed instantly, police said.
The driver and another brother, Richard Delgado, 24, were critically injured and were airlifted to University Hospital.
A cousin of the men, Eddie Hernandez, was also injured. He was treated and released from University Hospital.
Police are investigating whether alcohol was a factor in the crash.
If toxicology tests determine that Joseph Delgado was legally drunk, he could faces charges of intoxication manslaughter, police said.
