SAN ANTONIO -- A huge brush fire continued to burn on Tuesday afternoon on the property of a local business.
A massive wood pile was ignited at D&B construction located just off Farm Road 1560 near Ranch Acres Subdivision.
Three Area Fire Departments allowed the fire, which posed no harm to nearby homes, to burn in a controlled way.
Residents said they believe the fire may burn for several more days.
Resident Bob Cage lives 150 feet from the site of the 80-foot brush fire and said he's glad to see it go up in flames.
"We're glad to see it go," resident Bob Cage said. "Such an eyesore (brush pile) to our neighborhood, such an eyesore," Bob Cage said.
The brush pile had existed in the community for several years.
"We all wondered when it would catch fire," resident Marsha Schoolcraft said.
The four-story flames could be seen for miles.
Many people came to watch the massive wood pile dissolve into ashes.
The cause of the fire has not been determined, but residents said they assume an arsonist started the blaze.
"I don't see how it could have started by itself," Schoolcraft said.
