SAN ANTONIO -- A 25-year-old woman who was shot by her husband, who then committed suicide died Sunday night, police said.
Teena Borreda Perez died at Brooke Army Medical Center several hours after she got into an argument with her husband in a Motel 6 parking lot in the 200 block of North Pecos La Trinidad, police said.
Perez was walking on a motel sidewalk when her husband pulled alongside her in a vehicle armed with a .357-caliber Smith and Wesson and shot her, police said.
"What we are gathering from witnesses is that this man and woman were arguing," said Joe Rios, a San Antonio police spokesman. "At one point, the suspect was driving in the vehicle and shot at her."
The husband then pulled his car over after the shooting and fatally shot himself in the head, Rios said.
Officers said they the man slumped over in the car with the engine still running.
The victim's name has not been released pending notification of next of kin.
