SAN ANTONIO -- Crimestoppers offered a $100,000 reward Friday for an anonymous tip that leads to the arrest and grand jury indictment in the slaying of video game store manager Amber Belken.
During a news conference at the San Antonio Police Department, Police Chief Bill McManus said that although detectives have been working hard to solve the case, detectives still need a break in the case.
"Do the right thing, come forward with it (tip)," McManus said.
Belken was found with a plastic bag over her head at EB Gameworld at San Pedro Avenue and Rector on Jan. 29.
Since then, her mother, Lelia Belken, said she has been praying for police to catch her daughter's killer.
And with Mother's Day a few days away, Belken said she is not looking forward to visiting her daughter's grave.
"I don't think I've eaten or slept in a week because I'm dreading it," Belken said. "I had hoped by Mother's Day I could go to her grave and tell her that the person had been caught."
This is only the second time that CrimeStoppers has offered a six-figure reward.
Amber Belken's employer is offering $95,000 of the reward.
Anyone with information is urged to call CrimeStoppers at 210-224-STOP (7867).
