SAN ANTONIO -- Two drivers died Thursday afternoon in a head-on collision on Loop 410 involving an 18-wheeler and a concrete truck on the city's southeast side.
The driver of the truck heading northbound on Loop 410 lost control of the vehicle when a tire blew out.
The truck crossed the median at Loop 410 and East Southcross and crashed into a Wal-Mart 18-wheeler around 3 p.m.
A white four-door car carrying three people, including an infant, also crashed into the wreckage. None of them was injured.
First responders said the crash was the worst they have seen in a while.
The southbound lanes of Loop 410 near the crash were shut down for several hours.
Drivers were detoured onto an access road.
