A year-long investigation into a suspected methamphetamine ring with ties to Mexican drug cartels ended in the arrests of 15 people in three different states.
The investigation, which originated in Comal County, centered around the Good Time campground in the 9300 block of River Road in New Braunfels, said Mauricio Fernandez, DEA assistant special agent in charge of the San Antonio district office.
With the arrests, agents seized 10 pounds of high-purity methamphetamine, high powered weapons, money, and other assets.
Seven of the arrests were made in Comal County, four in Bexar County, and the others in Atlanta, Georgia, Austin, and California, Fernandez said.
"We have gutted this organization. This is one less organization and group that will not impact our communities, our kids and our people," said Fernandez.
A woman who identified herself as the owner of the Good Time Campground declined to comment on the investigation.
