LA VERNIA, Texas -- More than a dozen junior high students were sent home from school Monday for not cutting their hair.
Before spring break, the school's principal said he warned the student body to return from their break well-groomed, but 16 students didn't comply with the school's wishes.
Male students aren't allowed to have hair longer than the top of their collar and can't wear facial hair, according to school rules. All students are prohibited from having extreme hairstyles, according to campus rules.
The principal said he told those he sent home they could return to school the same day if they got a haircut, and most, but not all complied.
