Woman Sentenced To 80 Years

SAN ANTONIO -- A woman convicted Monday of drowning the 3-year-son of her boyfriend was sentenced to 80 years in prison on Tuesday by a Bexar County jury.

Jurors needed about three hours to agree on the punishment for Veronica Herrera, about double the time the same jury needed to find her guilty.

Herrera is expected to begin serving her sentence immediately.
