Man Shot, Killed Outside Apartment Complex

Victim Identified As Lorenzo McNair, 22

SAN ANTONIO -- A 22-year-old man was fatally wounded Thursday night outside an apartment complex on the city's Northwest Side.

Witnesses told police that the victim, Lorenzo McNair, was standing outside the Jackson Square Apartments in the 2500 block of Jackson-Keller Road at 10 p.m. when a maroon pickup truck pulled up to him.

McNair exchanged words with the driver and a passenger when the passenger opened fire on the victim several times, police said.

The victim ran behind the apartment complex, where he collapsed. McNair died on the way to a hospital.

The pickup truck was last seen going eastbound on Jackson-Keller Road.

Police said the shooting appeared to be gang-related.
