Kendall County Makes 4th Of July Fireworks Free

County Officials Cite Hot, Dry Conditions As Reason For Fireworks Ban

Kendall County residents will have to leave home if they want a traditional Fourth of July celebration.

Kendall County Commissioners voted Tuesday to ban the discharge of all fireworks. They said local hot, dry conditions make it unsafe.

State law prohibits counties from banning the sale of fireworks. While residents can buy pyrotechnics in Kendall County, they cannot pop them.

The County Commissioners office also voted to ban aerial fireworks for Independence Day.
