SAN ANTONIO -- A dog found hanging from a tree a few weeks ago may have a new home by the end of the month.
Chloe, a 7-month-old Chihuahua mix, was found hanging from a tree by a woman who heard the dog's cries. The dog was taken to the Animal Defense League, where she received weeks of treatment and has since been placed in a foster home.
"We love happy endings, and this is a happy ending for a dog who very easily could have died," said Ron Aaron of the Animal Defense League.
The dog was taken in by the Hodgden family of Alamo Heights after watching Chloe's story on KSAT 12 News.
"I was really sad about that," 12-year-old Zoey Hodgden said. "Why would someone do that to a dog? A puppy?"
The Hodgden family said they'd likely adopt the dog by the end of July.
