SAN ANTONIO -- Military officials and aquifer authorities said they weren't given early notification of changes made to a development near Camp Bullis that's been in the works for nearly four years.
The Cresta Bella development had recent changes in its plans that would alter the Camp Bullis Master Development Plan, and army officials said they were caught off-guard.
"It just seems like the left hand doesn't know what the right hand is doing," said Annalisa Peace with the Greater Edwards Aquifer Authority.
Developers' plans for hundreds of homes and businesses would mean the clearing and covering of land over the Edwards Aquifer's contributing zone. Military and aquifer authorities said the additions affect water, endangered species and the Army's training efforts.
The development is not a new project and multiple zoning amendments have been completed, a Cresta Bella spokesman said in a statement Monday. The statement also said developers would address any concerns the city or the aquifer authority had.
