SAN ANTONIO -- A 29-year-old man was charged with murder early Wednesday after he admitted to detectives that the devil drove him to kill a woman, police said.
Kethan Beschorner was arrested on outstanding warrants, but when detectives were questioning him he confessed to the slashing death of Michelle Lague, police said.
The victim's body was found in her apartment July 7 at 1009 Russell after neighbors became concerned because she hadn't been seen walking her dog.
Beschorner told detectives that he and Lague were drinking and doing drugs on July 4, when he pulled out a knife and nearly decapitated her, police said.
The suspect told detectives that his devil worshipping played a role in his actions, police said.
Beschorner also told police that Lague didn't deserve to die and he admitted to the slaying because he wanted to confess his sins and turn his life over to Jesus Christ, police said.
Lague was killed days before she was scheduled to testify in a murder trial, but police said her testimony was not a motive in the slaying.
Beschorner is behind held in the Bexar County Jail on $110,000 bond.
He had prior warrants for assault with bodily injury, possession of marijuana and interfering with a 911 call, police said.
