SAN ANTONIO -- A local mother and her boyfriend were arrested this week on charges they tried to sell the woman's 5-year-old daughter for sex.
Jennifer Richards, 25, and her boyfriend, Sean Michael Block, allegedly sent a text message to an FBI informant attempting to sell the child for sex, according to an affidavit unsealed in federal court Thursday.
"Nice piece 5 years old belongs to my gf and she wants to sell it," read one text message allegedly sent by Block, according to the affidavit. The informant also recorded a phone conversation with Richards where she said she had a "five-year-old daughter she desired to have engage in sexual contact with an adult male," according to the affidavit.
The affidavit states the pair wanted an apartment and a used car in exchange for her daughter.
Richards was arrested and charged with using interstate facilities to transmit information about a minor, and Block has been charged with distribution of child pornography. Richards have been jailed without bond, and Block is scheduled to appear Friday morning in federal court for a hearing.
