SAN ANTONIO -- A federal judge ordered a man charged with distributing child pornography to be jailed without bond after listening to graphic testimony from federal agents at a Friday hearing.
Sean Block, 40, is also accused of attempting to trade sex with his girlfriend's daughter for an apartment and a used car, according to an arrest affidavit. Block, along with his 25-year-old girlfriend, Jennifer Richards, were investigated by the FBI and arrested earlier this week.
An FBI agent testified that Block sent child pronography web links to Richards in an effort to help her exploit her 5-year-old daughter. The agent also said Block chatted with Richards online and described his desire to have sex with teenagers.
Block is married and has a 15-month old child, his wife's attorney said. His wife was in the courtroom to hear testimony for a brief period of time before becoming ill and running out of the courtroom, the attorney said.
"We heard about picking up teenagers, 13- and 15-year-old hitchhikers and mutilating them," attorney Jean Brown said.
Brown said Block's wife filed for a restraining order and divorce from her husband after learning of the charges this week from federal agents.
Block's attorney said there is no truth to the charges.
"There is no action, but there is nothing other than what was alleged that there was a distribution of a Web link," Ronald Guyer said.
Block is also accused of sending a text message to a man offering Richards' daughter up for sex. The man who received the text was an informant, according to court records.
Richards is charged with using interstate facilities to transfer information of a minor. Her hearing was continued until Tuesday.
