Toll Road Documentary Debuts

A local filmmaker is hoping his latest documentary will open some eyes.

William Molina debuted his new film focused on the recent court battle between the Texas Department of Transportation and a community action group, the Texans Uniting for Reform and Freedom.

In 2007, TURF sued TxDOT, claiming the state agency was illegally using tax dollars to pay for a multimillion-dollar campaign advocating toll roads along with the TransTexas corridor. Unlike his first documentary, Molina said, this movie takes no sides.

"It's pretty shocking," he said. "I was there obviously during the productions, and I just couldn't believe what I was hearing and seeing, and so it further supports why people are so upset with toll roads."

More information about the movie can be found at the filmmaker's Web site.
