SAN ANTONIO -- The Security State Bank and Trust in Boerne was robbed Friday morning.
According to Boerne police, an armed man who was wearing a ski mask and was hiding, forced the first two employees who arrived at the bank around 7 a.m. into the building and handcuffed them.
The man then coerced them into getting the information needed to gain access to the bank's safe, police said.
He then took the keys to one of the employee's vehicles and left the bank with an unknown amount of money, police said.
Police found the car abandoned a short time later near Garden Street in Boerne, police said.
The man is still on the loose and none of the employees were injured.
This was the first bank robbery in Boerne since 1982.
Anyone with information on the crime is urged to call the Boerne Police Department at 1-830-249-8645 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-348-5323.
