SAN ANTONIO -- A homeowner called three men heroes after they pulled two of her family members from a burning home late Wednesday afternoon.

The fire started just after 5 p.m. at a home on the 7500 block of Meadow Lawn and quickly spread throughout the home, firefighters said.

Gloria Lee said while nearly everything she owned was lost in the fire, she was just thankful nobody, including her brother-in-law and her disabled nephew were able to get away from the fire with the help of three men who rushed inside.

"I was there for two seconds and was running out of breath," Roland Alvarado said. "We just got him out as quick as possible."

The men broke a window to reach Lee's nephew, but Alvarado said he's not a hero, just that he was glad he could help a neighbor out.
