UNIVERSAL CITY, Texas -- A woman was killed and a man injured in an apparent murder-suicide Monday afternoon, investigators said.

Universal City police responded to a call from a man at a home near Loop 1604 and FM 1976 just after 1 p.m., investigators said. When two officers entered the home, they immediately left and called SWAT team officers to the scene, police said.

A 17-year-old woman was found shot to death and a 30-year-old man was found shot in the head, but alive, investigators said. The man was taken to Brooke Army Medical Center in critical condition.

Police said the woman had been dead for an extended period of time, but they did not know exactly how long. Investigators said the man lived at the home with the victim and her mother.
