SAN ANTONIO -- An East Central ISD middle school teacher is out of jail on bond Sunday night after he was arrested on charges of having a sexual relationship with a 15-year-old female student.
The teacher is 22-year-old Bryan Joseph Kung, a teacher at East Central Heritage Middle School.
Kung was arrested on Thursday on charges of an improper relationship between a teacher and a student, sexual assault of a child. Police said he also is accused of having child pornography.
According to court documents, the girl's mother found naked photos of Kung on her daughter's cell phone, as well as text messages that indicated a relationship between the girl and Kung.
Investigators said they also found two videos on the cell phone of Kung sexually assaulting the student.
Bexar County sheriff's deputies said that during an interview, Kung admitted to sending the naked photos of himself and to taking the videos.
Investigators also said Kung told them the sexual assaults took place at his apartment.
Parents were shocked to hear the allegations.
"It's very upsetting as a mom to go through that, kind of -- you send your kids to school to get an education and they're being abused possibly," said Shannon Mendoza, a parent of a middle school student, but not of the student who police believe was assaulted. "What kind of system do we have here? This is just terrible -- that's just my whole opinion. It made me sick to my stomach."
A station reporter went to Kung's apartment Sunday, but no one answered.
Kung was out of jail Sunday night on a $95,000 bond.
