MEDINA COUNTY, Texas -- Medina County authorities are looking for a pair believed to have been involved in recent multiple home invastions in the county.
The most recent attack, a Lytle home on County Road 683, happened late Tuesday evening when one of the attackers jimmied open a window at the home, Medina County Sheriff Randy Brown said.
"The homeowner was put in a closet, and the door was propped closed with some furniture in the hallway," he said.
Three men, all armed with guns, ransacked the home and stole jewelry and several firearms, Brown said. The men also stole the homeowner's car. After the woman freed herself and called authorities, deputies found the woman's missing vehicle and one of the suspects, 22-year-old Mario Guerrero.
Brown said home invasions are rare in the county, but Tuesday's attack was the second in a week. The other attack happened in nearby Devine.
"Pretty much the same thing, (they) forced their way into the house, there was a couple there (and) they were actually put into a room and the door was tied shut," he said.
Based on the similarities of both home invasions, Brown said he believes the same people are involved. Guerrero is being held in the Medina County Jail on $100,000 bond.
