GONZALES, Texas -- Police are investigating a shooting in the middle of the town east of San Antonio.
A car collision in front of City Hall on the 800 block of St. Joseph Street sparked a fight, which led to one person brandishing a gun and shooting two people, said Greg Little of
The Gonzales Inquirer. Three others were injured during the fight. The two shooting victims were transported to University Hospital in San Antonio and remain in critical condition Tuesday evening.
All schools in the city were on lockdown for a brief time, but that order has since been lifted and children are being allowed to leave the school.
The fight started after a crash between a SUV and a four-door vehicle, witnesses said, and the occupants of other vehicles began getting involved in the fight.
Police would not talk about the shooting and were deferring all questions to the Gonzales city manager.
