The eastbound lanes of Interstate 10 near Huebner Road were closed for a few hours overnight after an 18-wheeler caught fire.

It happened around 1 a.m. Saturday.

According to police, the 18-wheeler had a blowout on one of its rear tires and caught fire as the brakes locked up.

The fire department was called out to put out the flames.

While officials dealt with the fire, another driver stopped in the center lane to watch when the driver's vehicle was rear-ended by another car.

Both drivers were taken to local hospitals with unknown injuries.

The eastbound lanes of I-10 had to be shut down while officials cleaned up the mess.
