SAN ANTONIO -- Fire caused $100,000 damage to a parochial school on the city's near northwest side early Thursday.
The fire broke out around 3:15 a.m. at the Redeemer Lutheran School at 2507 Fredericksburg Rd. The school is home to San Antonio Technology Academy, which offers free tuition for high school students.
Firefighters were able to extinguish the flames quickly, but not before the fire gutted a classroom and caused structural damage to a hallway, said Ron Rodriguez of the San Antonio Fire Department.
Rodriguez said the fire may have been intentionally set because it started in a classroom and no one was supposed to be in the building at the time.
No injuries were reported.
