UNIVERSAL CITY, Texas -- An elementary school principal given a noise ordinance citation last month after complaints from a neighbor has had the citation dismissed.
Terri LeBleu, principal at Olympia Elementary School in Universal City, was issued a citation on March 20 after a neighbor, Butch Armstrong, complained to police about excessive noise during the school's Family Fitness Day.
According to a letter released by the Judson Independent School District from Universal City officials, the citation was dismissed after Armstrong withdrew his complaint. Armstrong said he withdrew his complaint because of what they said was unfair media coverage as well as notices of future events from the school.
"We thought by sending that, if there was some concern and they'd rather not be around for a field day, that they would have some forewarning and make other plans," LeBleu said.
