Project Cool, an initiative to help keep senior citizens cooler through the scorching Texas summer, is once again accepting monetary and product donations.

Fan donations can be made at all 50 San Antonio Fire Department locations throughout the area, excluding the airport location. Any fan donations are asked to be the 18-inch box fan variety. Donations will be accepted at fire stations from 10 a.m., to 8 p.m., until Aug. 31.

Bexar County residents at least 60 years old are eligible to receive a fan. Those seeking fans can contact the United Way Help Line at 210-227-4357 or by dialing 211. The helpline is monitored from 8:30 a.m., to 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday.

Monetary donations can be made by sending a check to Project Cool, c/o Catholic Charities, 202 West French Place, San Antonio, TX, 78212.
