SAN ANTONIO -- A family dog was saved in a house fire Friday in Hollywood Park.
No one was home except the pet when fire broke out in the 500 block of Sagecrest. An alert neighbor saw the flames and got the dog to safety, Hollywood Park Fire Chief John Butrico said.
Butrcio said because of the drought and the fact that the home was old, several crews were dispatched to the scene.
"It can go up pretty quick," Butrio said. "We try to get as many people out there as we can. If we need them, great. If we don't, even better."
The fire started in the master bedroom. A cause is under investigation, but damage has been estimated at $50,000 to $70,000.
