UPDATED: 6:34 pm CDT July 2, 2009

A man accused of assaulting his girlfriend's father, leading to the man's death, is being sought by police.

Jose Alejandro Carrillo, 47, is accused of assaulting his girlfriend's father at a home in the 700 block of Yucca on June 18, police said.

Carrillo drove away in a black Chevrolet Silverado with an extended cab, police said. The victim, 72-year-old Alfredo Escalera, passed away a couple days after the assault, therefore the Bexar County District Attorney's office is expected to upgraded the charge from injury to the elderly to manslaughter.

If you have information about Carrillo's whereabouts, call Crime Stoppers at 210-224-7687.
