SAN ANTONIO -- A four-year patrolman with the San Antonio Police Department was arrested Friday evening and charged with sexually assaulting a woman late last month.
Officer Gregory Mickel was being held on charges of sexual assault and official oppression for an attack that allegedly occurred on June 26. According to the arrest affidavit, the victim told investigators Mickel stopped her and threatened to arrest her on charges of prostitution, which would have been her third such offense. The victim said Mickel told her he wouldn't arrest her if she had sex with him, according to the affidavit.
Mickel admitted to having sex with the woman, according to the affidavit, but he said the sex was consensual. Mickel was in the Bexar County Jail late Friday evening.
