Arson investigators were looking into whether fires at two elementary school portables buildings were related.

The first fire happened at 1 a.m. Sunday at Lackland City Elementary in the 100 block of Dumont Drive on the city's southwest side.

The portable building was destroyed, but the flames didn't spread to any other buildings, fire officials said.

About two hours later, a similar fire was reported at Stewart Elementary in the 1900 block of Rigsby Avenue on the city's southeast side.

A portable building was heavily damaged.

No one was hurt in either fire.
