SAN ANTONIO -

Hundreds of people were caught up in a huge brawl at Chacho's on San Antonio's Northeast Side late Thursday night.

The fight initially began around 11 p.m. inside the restaurant at Loop 410 and Perrin Beitel, but quickly spread outside, San Antonio police said.

"Officers arrived and found numerous individuals fighting. (The officers) requested back-up, more officers arrived and were able to break up the fight," said San Antonio police Sgt. Michael Wilson.

Police said it was unclear what caused the fight, but did not say if it was directly related to the Spurs game.

Officers used a stun gun on a man and shut down Perrin Beitel in their efforts to control the crowd.

Even one of the victims was briefly detained, because she was irate and keeping police from calling for medical help for another victim, police said.

More than a dozen police officers worked to secure the scene.
