2 arrested in beating of special needs man with crow bar

Christoval Morales, Jorge Hernandez have been taken into custody

SAN ANTONIO – San Antonio police have arrested two men they say are responsible for using a crow bar to beat a man with special needs.

Christoval Morales and Jorge Hernandez have been charged with injury to the disabled and retaliation.

According to an arrest warrant affidavit the victim worked with the two men and had told his boss that the pair were breaking into his ice machines.

The suspects confronted the victim calling him a snitch and started to hit him in the arms and ribs with the crow bar, the affidavit said. A cousin came to the aid of the man before running the suspects off.

Police said the two suspects told the victim that they would kill him if he told police.

The victim was taken to an area hospital for his injuries. He was able to identify both Morales and Hernandez as the men in the assault.
