2 arrested in East Side stabbing

Suspected crashes into 6 parked cars

SAN ANTONIO – Two people were arrested following a stabbing early Monday morning on the city's East Side.

Emergency Medical Services were called out to stabbing outside of Tropicana Sports Bar in the 1500 block of Gevers.

When EMS arrived, they did not find a victim. About 10 minutes later they found him in the 1100 block of Porter Street. San Antonio Police said he was stabbed in back. He was taken to the hospital in critical condition.

Police said once they located the suspects in a pickup truck, the driver crashed into six parked cars. The driver crashed into a telephone pole and two suspects took off running, said police.

"It's like something you see out of a movie you know," Jesse Sanchez, whose car was hit by the suspect said. "It was my daughter's car, and we haven't notified her yet."

San Antonio police eventually found one suspect at a bus stop near South New Braunfels and Porter Street. Another suspect was picked up in the 500 block of Delmont Court. Police said he had a bloody knife in his pocket.
