SAN ANTONIO -

Two people died in vehicle crashes over the weekend, San Antonio police said.

The first accident occurred Saturday at 4:50 a.m.

Janet Limon Melendez, 20, was speeding down I-10 when she struck a concrete barrier near Huebner and flipped her gray 2004 Ford Mustang.

She was ejected from the vehicle and taken to University Hospital in critical condition, where she later died.

The second accident happened around 9 p.m. on Saturday, police said.

Scotty Karl Schroder, 27, who was driving a white Suzuki motorcycle, was speeding down the access road around of Loop 410 near Ingram, when a tan Jeep Grand Cherokee pulled out of a parking lot.

Investigators said Schroder braked, but could not avoid crashing into the back of the Jeep. He was taken to University Hospital by EMS, where was pronounced dead.
