Bexar County Sheriff’s deputies were involved in a 2 hour stand-off Wednesday after a woman called 911 claiming her boyfriend was abusing her and her child.
It happened around 3 p.m. in the 7100 block of Glen Terrace in east Bexar County.
Deputies reported hearing screams coming from the home when they arrived.
The asked the male suspect, 36-year-old Omar Nesbit, to come out of the home, but he would not comply.
SWAT members were called in after deputies believed Nesbit picked up a shotgun.
“He heard what sounded like a shotgun chambering a shell. Our deputies know that sound pretty well so once he figured that was happening he decided to back up and call SWAT," said Bexar County Sheriff’s spokesperson Paul Berry.
After a half hour the SWAT team entered the home and dragged the woman out.
Shortly after another deputy came out of the home carrying a nine-year-old girl.
Nesbit was handcuffed and led out of the home last.
He was arrested on an outstanding warrant for aggravated assault.
Berry said he will face a second assault charge because of Wednesday’s incident.
It is unknown if the woman pulled from the home will face any charges.
