Two people died and another was critically injured following a head-on collision that San Antonio police said was caused by a drunk driver early Sunday morning on the West Side.
The driver of a Jeep was headed on the westbound lanes of Old Highway 90 at Callaghan Road when she cut across the road, drove over the center guardrail and crashed into a car head-on.
Police said two people inside the car became trapped and first responders had to cut the vehicle to get both victims out.
They were both pronounced dead at the scene. Police have not released their names.
The woman in the Jeep was taken to University Hospital in critical condition.
Police said the Jeep driver was intoxicated and would face two charges of intoxication manslaughter. The driver's name has not been released.
