Driver who caused crash identified as Ruby Marie Bukvasevic, arrested for DWI in 2003 and 2006
The drunk driver responsible for a crash that killed two people early Sunday morning on Old Highway 90 at Callghan Road had two previous DWI arrests, according to Bexar County records.
Ruby Marie Bukvasevic, 53, is charged with two counts of intoxication manslaughter, San Antonio police said.
Bukvasevic was listed in critical condition at University Hospital Sunday evening.
Bexar County records showed Bukvasevic has been arrested for DWI twice before, once in 2003 and again in 2006.
San Antonio police said Bukvasevic was intoxicated when she drove her Jeep across Highway 90 and slammed into another vehicle head-on.
Two people in the second car had to be cut out of the vehicle and were pronounced dead at the scene, San Antonio police said.
They have been identified as 48-year-old Corinne Hollingsworth, of Round Rock, and 68-year-old Raquel DeLeon Cooney, of Lubbock.
