2 suspected in series of burglaries in northeast San Antonio
San Antonio police: Montrail Butler, Deon Harris charged in 1 case so far
The arrests of two men, Montrail Butler, 17, and Deon Harris, 21, could help detectives solve a series of property crimes on the Northeast side, according to an arrest warrant affidavit.
Butler and Harris were officially charged Tuesday in connection with one home burglary that happened last month.
The affidavit stated that the homeowner went to police March 9 with surveillance video showing the crime being committed.
He told police jewelry had been taken from his home, the affidavit stated.
The man told investigators that his daughter immediately recognized the person who was caught on camera and identified him as Butler.
Detectives interviewed Butler in his home and he confessed to the crime, saying that Harris was with him at the time, the affidavit stated.
Police said he also handed over a stolen camera which he claimed that Harris gave him.
One investigator on the case also recognized Harris as the man who pawned items that were stolen from the same home in February, the affidavit stated.
Detectives said they suspect the pair may also be responsible for other crimes in the area near Madison High School.
