Jose Belmont Convicted Of Double Murder, Sentenced To Life Without Parole

SAN ANTONIO -- A convicted killer is going to prison for life in the stabbing deaths of a Von Ormy couple last year.Jose Belmont received the life sentence without parole as part of a plea deal. Jose Luis Herrera and his wife, Esmeralda Herrera, were stabbed to death in their mobile home in March 2008. Belmont was staying with his grandmother at the time, who is the landlord of the mobile home park where the Herreras lived.Court records show the Herreras were stabbed more than 20 times each.
