SAN ANTONIO -- Firefighters in Windcrest were kept busy Sunday afternoon when they were called out to rescue a cat that had gotten into a gutter.
It happened at Glen Mont and Montgomery drives in Windcrest.
Some friends were walking down the street and heard the kitten meowing in the gutter. They tried to use a loose board to reach him but it didn't work. That's when they decided to call the fire department.
After a couple of attempts, the soggy cat made it out.
"I heard the kitten meowing and it really did touch my heart to get some help out here and rescue the kitten," said Charles Phillips who helped rescue the kitten.
Phillips said he will try to find a home for the cat, or adopt it himself.
