Neighbors Feuding In NE Bexar

Dispute Includes Threats, Guns, Foul Language

A feud between three neighbors in northeast Bexar County has escalated into incidents in which a gun was pulled and death threats were made.

"We believe that some violent confrontation is going to happen," said Rick Thomas, one of the neighbors involved in the feud.

"I don't know why he attacks me," added Jim Rudd, another neighbor involved in the feud.

Thomas and Rudd said that their neighbor, who KSAT 12 News is not identifying, flashes them with his truck headlights and a high-powered spotlight at night.

The unidentified neighbor has also carved the words "bite me" with his lawn mower onto his lawn, placed nails in the greenbelt and scattered beer and soda cans on his yard, Thomas and Rudd said.

"He has told me on several occasions that he was going to kill my service dogs," said Rudd, who claims to be a fully disabled veteran.

"The worst thing is he's been seen with the beer cans in his underwear, exposing himself," Thomas said.

Sheriff's deputies have written up a dozen reports, but will not do anything, Thomas said.

The warring sides initially agreed to mediate at the Bexar County Dispute Resolution Center but could never agree on a mutually beneficial time to mediate.

Bexar County Commissioner Tommy Adkisson is aware of the problem and said because no broken laws have been witnessed by deputies, there is nothing law enforcement can do.

"Give it up, turn the page, move on," Adkisson said.

The accused neighbor, who declined an on-camera interview, said that he has not done anything that Thomas and Rudd claimed he did.

The man's lawyer claimed that Thomas was the one who canceled mediation.

Another neighbor, who did not want to be identified, said that Thomas is the problematic neighbor.

The feud has been going on for more than two years and shows no signs of abating.

Rudd and Thomas hope someone helps them find a way to end the dispute.

In the meantime, both sides plan to try again to settle their differences at the Bexar County Dispute Resolution Center.
