SAN ANTONIO -- Deep family bonds kept Antwane Wolford's family close since they were young. His loss will bring them closer.
"I looked up to him like a role model and he just tell me what to do, tell me my right from wrongs," said Sedrick Wolford, the victim's brother.
Wolford's family said he was a good brother, son and father. They said Wolford was supposed to get custody of a child he had with a woman before he was with his current girlfriend, 17-year-old Tiffany James. But they said James became jealous.
"She gave him ultimate that he had to make a choice between her or the baby he was going to take custody of," said Eashonne Huggins, the victim's mother.
Police said during an argument James stabbed Wolford at an apartment in the 4600 block of Dietrich Road Friday afternoon.
Wolford, who's also the dad of one of James' kids, died from stab wounds to the chest, back and face.
"I just want to know why she did this to my brother he did nothing to deserve this she didn't have to do this to him she could have just let him live," said Shanobea Wolford, the victim's sister.
Wolford was supposed to help his great-grandmother make Thanksgiving dinner this week.
James is charged with murder and behind bars on $100,000 bond.
