SAN ANTONIO -- Last year, a public relations firm allowed a team of paranormal investigators to spend a few nights in their offices to see what they could find with their high-tech ghost-hunting equipment.
On Tuesday night, the results of that investigation were revealed on the Discovery Channel show "Ghost Lab," which followed two brothers from Schertz as they traveled across the country in search of ghosts and other unexplained phenomena.
So far, the siblings have been to Alcatraz and other haunted locations, but the best evidence they've uncovered was in their own backyard.
"They say that San Antonio is one of the most haunted cities in America. Well, if GDC (Guerra, DeBerry, Coody) is any indication of that, it probably is," said Brad Klinge, a paranormal investigator.
After the lengthy investigation, the Klinge brothers are convinced the offices of Guerra, DeBerry, Coody, which are housed in a former hotel, are haunted.
In addition to capturing several recordings of ghostly voices, the Klinge brothers also captured a full-bodied apparition.
"My brother had his camera facing the door and in the camera you see this form, a perfect form of a person, raise up in the camera's view and disappear and then fully come up and sit there for a second and then, 'Swoosh, gone,'" Barry Klinge said.
Trish DeBerry was pleased to finally have some evidence to support what her employees have been reporting since the agency moved into the old hotel about 10 years ago.
"I tell you it's nice to see some documentation," DeBerry said.
While the ghosts have scared away a few cleaning crews and employees over the years, DeBerry said the agency is trying to live in harmony with the spirits.
"We like to think that we've improved the surroundings since we rehabbed things," DeBerry said. "There is central air and heat, there may be a beer in the refrigerator. So we try to keep them happy."
As for the Klinge brothers, they hoping their show scares up a large enough audience for a second season. If it is picked up, they'd like to feature more local haunts.
"San Antonio is such a great place. There's so many places," Brad Klinge said. "We could probably do an entire 13-episode season right here in San Antonio because of all the history."
