SAN ANTONIO -- The last time Juanita Trevino spoke to her daughter, Lucero Sarabia Reeves, was on Thanksgiving night five years ago.
The 21-year-old mother of two called her mother from a party.
"She called me and told me she met somebody and he was going to give here a ride home," Trevino said. "She just disappeared without a trace."
The family searched for Lucero for months. They posted fliers in the area of Callaghan and Ingram roads where she was last seen.
Family members said the last time they spoke to police investigators told them they had no leads in the case.
"It's not only her, it's the baby. She was eight months pregnant, so I'm not just praying for her. I'm praying for my grandchild, too," Trevino said.
On Thursday night, a large group of family members gathered for an emotional candlelight vigil to mark the anniversary of Lucero's disappearance and to renew their faith.
Trevino refuses to give up hope her daughter will be found alive.
"I keep my faith strong in hopes that she's out there somewhere," Trevino said. "I want to believe very strongly that she's still alive, but as time goes by, it's hard to because she's just not the type of person who would just leave."
Every time Trevino hears news reports of human remains being found her heart skips a few beats.
"In a way I thank God it's not her, and in another way I just wish I could have some closure on all this," Trevino said.
Until that happens, Trevino said family members will continue to gather every Thanksgiving to keep their hopes alive.
"Every year until I find out what happened to my daughter or until I have some answers," Trevino said.
