Jury selection started Wednesday in the trial of an off-duty San Antonio police officer accused of drunken driving.

According to police reports, Patrolman Israel Castro, 27, was pulled over in Feb. 2002 for speeding.

Castro had slurred speech, bloodshot eyes and smelled like alcohol, the report said.

A breathalyzer test revealed that Castro had a 0.16 blood-alcohol level, twice the legal limit in Texas.

If Castro is found guilty, he will be kicked off the police force.
