SAN ANTONIO -- A man was arrested on Monday, accused of pretending to be a police officer during a road rage incident.
Juan Fernando Mireles, 33, said the charges against him of pretending to be a police officer during a road rage incident are false.
Police say he was involved in a road rage incident on Feb. 17. Another man said Mireles spit on his car when he passed him on Jackson Keller Road.
The man said Mireles pulled out a badge and pretended to be a cop.
"(Mireles was) driving aggressively toward our victim, trying to get him to pull over," said San Antonio police spokesman Matthew Porter. "He even got behind our victim and hit his airhorn, making the individual believe he was an officer."
The victim pulled up next to an NEISD police officer who was directing traffic in front of Jackson Keller.
That officer said Mireles flashed his badge at him as well, but because he was directing cars, he said he didn't get a good look at it.
Mireles drove away but witnesses got his license plate number.
