SAN ANTONIO -- Police were looking for a gunman Friday who opened fire in the parking lot of a Northwest Side nightclub, wounding three men.
The shooting happened at around 3 a.m. at Antro The Club in the 7900 block of Fredericksburg Road.
A police officer who was patrol heard four or five gunshots go off, said Capt. Chris Andersen of the San Antonio Police Department.
When officers arrived, they found two men suffering from a gunshot wound to the leg. The men, Prince Anthony Boyd, 24, and Randez Lamar James, 21, were taken to University Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, Andersen said. A third victim drove himself to Northeast Baptist Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, Andersen said.
The shooter was believed to be a man in his mid- to late 20s, 5 feet 4 inches tall, weighs 130 pounds and has black hair. He may have been wearing a purple shirt and black pants.
Andersen said police have been called out to the nightclub many times before.
"There are always a lot of large gatherings out here," Andersen said. "Lots of young people and at the end of the night, when bars close, if they have disagreements that came up during the night, this is when they solve them."
Andersen said police plan to keep a close eye on the club.
