SAN ANTONIO -- A man arrested on charges of attaching a camera phone to his leg and photographing a teenage girl inside a dressing room at South Park Mall was out on bond Friday afternoon.
In a dressing room at the Body Central Retail store on Sunday, a teen noticed something odd from underneath the dressing room door.
She said that while she was changing, she noticed a leg poking from underneath the dressing room door and reported the incident to mall security.
Police arrested 26-year-old Juan Enrique Ipina on a charge of improper photography for attaching a cell phone to his leg and photographing the girl from a hole cut in his pants leg.
South Park Mall shopper Ann Martin said she was disgusted to hear that someone would use their camera phone in such a manner.
"I think that's sick," she said. "I'm glad he got caught."
She said she thinks something more should be done to protect shoppers in dressing rooms.
"They should have security or something in the dressing room or around where a guy can't go in and do things like that," she said. "They need more security or make the doors go the ground."
The general manager at South Park Mall, Cesar Rodriguez, told KSAT 12 by phone that mall officials are commending mall security for detaining the suspect and that their customers' safety is their primary concern.
Ipina was released from Bexar County Jail Thursday night after posting a $5,000 bond.
