Four people, including a young child, were injured in a crash caused by a driver who ran a red light, San Antonio police say.

Officers responded to the crash around 9:30 p.m. Sunday at the intersection of SW 36th and Eldridge Avenue on the West Side.

Police said a man in his 20s was driving a blue car south on SW 36th with his wife and 3-year-old son.

The driver then ran a red light at the intersection and smashed into a white car driven by a woman in her 40s, police said.

Police said all four people involved were taken to University Hospital with serious injuries.

The accident remains under investigation, but police believe alcohol was a factor in the crash.
